Signs you need new gutters

Your gutters will tell you before your foundation does.

Rainwater spilling over the edge of a gutter during a storm
  • Water spills over the edge

Overflow during a storm or snowmelt usually means clogged, undersized, or badly pitched gutters.

  • Icicles and ice sheets

Ice along the eaves or on walkways points to water sitting in the gutter and refreezing overnight.

  • Sagging or pulling away

Snow load and packed debris bend hangers. Once a run sags, water pools and the problem speeds up.

  • Leaking seams and corners

Drips at joints mean the sealant has failed. Seamless runs remove most of those joints entirely.

  • Stains on fascia or siding

Streaks, peeling paint, or soft fascia boards are signs water is getting behind the gutter.

  • Soil washing out below

Trenches in landscaping or water near the foundation mean downspouts aren’t moving water far enough.

Seeing two or more? A new seamless system is usually the fix.

    Sagging gutters replaced with seamless

The old sectional gutter had pulled off the fascia and was staining the stucco. We replaced it with a seamless bronze run formed on site.

    Pine-needle clog fixed with micro-mesh

Pine needles filled this gutter every fall. Stainless micro-mesh guards now let the water through while the needles stay on top and blow off.

    Leaking corner rebuilt and resealed

A split corner miter was dumping water down the siding every winter. We rebuilt the corner, resealed it, and rerouted the downspout away from the foundation.

How on-site seamless works

Made at your house, not in pieces at a warehouse.

Sectional gutters are joined every 10 feet, and every joint is a future leak. We form one piece per run, so the only seams are at the corners.

  1. 1

    Measure every run

We walk the roofline, measure each run, and check pitch, fascia condition, and where water needs to go.

  2. 2

    Form it in your driveway

Our trailer-mounted machine rolls aluminum coil into one continuous gutter cut to the exact length of each run.

  3. 3

    Hang, pitch, and seal

Hidden hangers go in at close spacing for snow load. We pitch toward downspouts and seal only the corners and ends.

  4. 4

    Add guards and clean up

If you chose guards, they go on the same day. We haul away old gutters and water-test before we leave.

Gutter guard comparison

Not every guard stops pine needles.

Here's an honest look at the four common types, and why we usually recommend micro-mesh for Northern Nevada.

Full gutter guard guide
  • Our Nevada pick

    Micro-mesh

A fine stainless steel screen over the gutter. Water passes through; needles and leaves stay on top.

    Good at

    • Blocks pine needles and small debris
    • Low profile from the street
    • Holds up to snow and UV

    Watch out for

    • Highest upfront cost
    • Fine dust can film the surface and needs an occasional brush-off
  • Covers (reverse curve)

A solid hood that curves water around its edge and into the gutter while debris slides off.

    Good at

    • Sheds large leaves well
    • Very durable

    Watch out for

    • Pine needles can slip in the gap
    • Heavy rain can overshoot the curve
    • More visible from the ground
  • Foam inserts

A foam block that sits inside the gutter and fills it, letting water soak through.

    Good at

    • Lowest cost
    • Quick to install

    Watch out for

    • Needles and seeds lodge in the foam
    • Breaks down in high-desert sun
    • Can hold water that freezes
  • Brush guards

A long bristle brush laid in the gutter that catches debris on the bristles.

    Good at

    • Inexpensive
    • Easy to remove and reinstall

    Watch out for

    • Pine needles tangle in the bristles
    • Must be pulled and cleaned regularly

FAQ

Common gutter questions

Don't see yours? Call (775) 414-4526.

What makes a gutter “seamless”?

We roll aluminum coil through a forming machine at your home and cut each piece to the full length of the run. Only corners and end caps are joined, so there are far fewer places for leaks to start than with 10-foot sectional gutters.

How long does installation take?

Most single-family homes are finished in one day, including removing the old gutters. Larger homes, copper, or commercial projects may take longer, and we’ll tell you the timeline with your quote.

Do I need gutter guards in Reno?

If you have pine, juniper, cottonwood, or other trees near the roof, guards save a lot of cleaning and help prevent winter ice dams from clogged gutters. Micro-mesh handles pine needles best.

Can you repair my existing gutters instead of replacing them?

Often, yes. We re-pitch sagging runs, reseal leaking corners, and replace bent sections. If repairs would cost close to a new system, we’ll say so and show you both options.

Which areas do you serve?

Reno, Sparks, Sun Valley, Carson City, Fernley, and surrounding Northern Nevada communities. Call if you’re nearby and don’t see your town listed.

Are estimates really free?

Yes. We come out, measure, and give you a written quote with no obligation.
